Salish Sea Land Cover Classification

The goal of my team's analysis was to produce a series of land cover maps of the Salish Sea Bio-region based on Landsat 8 satellite imagery from Summer 2020. To accomplish this, we produced five maps, two representing the imagery itself, one to present vegetation cover in the region (NDVI), one to represent regions of urban development (NDBI), and one to show a simplified version of the land cover through five distinct categories. Our product could be utilized to estimate the general health of vegetation the amount of developed land in the bio-region.
