Landslide Hazard Index: Nepal

Nepal's combination of climate, topography, and development patterns make it a hotspot for dangerous landslides. After researching landslide causes in the country, I compiled data on steepness, erosion from water, roads, and human development and ranked them on a common scale to create rasters for how likely a landslide is to occur at any given point. Then, I combined those rasters to create a single index of landslide hazard for the country. Though the data available for this project was limited, the model I created could be transferred to a larger scale project with more resources to help keep the people of Nepal safe
